| A more intelligent cousin of the mighty kraken, capable of using tools and spells. They are fully amphibious, but most of their species choose to stay beneath the waves and serve their King.
In their brief time together Slothrop forms the impression that this octopus is not in good mental health, though whereâs his basis for comparing? But there is a mad exhuberance, as with inanimate objects which fall off of tables when we are sensitive to noise and our own clumsiness and donât want them to fall, a sort of wham! ha-ha you hear that? here it is again, WHAM! in the cephalopodâs every movement, which Slothrop is glad to get away from as he finally scales the crab like a discus, with all his strength, out to sea, and the octopus, with an eager splash and gurgle, strikes out in pursuit, and is presently gone. |
Useful Info
Octopodes are sentient octopuses, usually armed with polearms and wearing wizard hats. They are capable of dealing surprising amounts of damage with their constriction melee attacks, but are otherwise very fragile. They can be found very rarely in the Abyss.
