Arga

Version 0.26: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.

A beautiful mithril axe, probably lost by some dwarven hero.

the +8 mithril axe "Arga"

+8 broad axe

Speed brand
+40 Will

Desirability

With a base damage of 13 and a min delay of 0.467 once you account for the speed brand, Arga isn't capable of the raw brutality of bigger axes, but does attack marvelously fast and doesn't restrict you from using shields. The willpower boost is minor, but welcome. Couple it with some solid slaying sources and this cleaving weapon can be extremely effective throughout the game.
