Bestows an enchantment on other nearby living creatures that causes them to rise as simulacra after being slain.

Bind Souls is a monster-only spell that enchants all living creatures in the caster's LOS for some time. When an enchanted creature is slain, a simulacrum matching them will be created nearby. This spell also prevents your own undead-creating Necromancy (except Death Channel) from working.

Additionally, the following monsters cast Bind Souls automatically when slain:

History

  • Prior to 0.33, hostile sumulacra created via this spell gave XP.
  • Prior to 0.30, Gozag didn't block hostile soul binding.
  • Prior to 0.27, a simulacrum would only appear if an enchanted monster would drop a corpse. That is, the spell only had a 50% chance to create a simulacrum on death.
  • Bind Souls was introduced in 0.19.
