| This spell sets a weapon or launcher held by the caster ablaze. It will not affect weapons otherwise subject to special enchantments. |
Fire Brand is a level 2 Charms/Fire Magic spell which temporarily adds the flaming brand to any unbranded, non-artifact weapon you currently wield. When cast on a melee weapon, this increases your damage output significantly, especially against targets with high AC or vulnerability to fire, such as ice beasts and hydras. When cast on a ranged weapon, it will deal 100% fire damage. Unwielding the weapon will cause the brand to be lost.
Using a scroll of vorpalize weapon while under the effect of this spell will make the brand permanent.
