Word of Recall is monster-only spell which teleports a random band of human intelligence creatures to the caster. The spell takes 30 auts to fully cast, however, so if you can disable or kill the caster, the spell will not take effect. It is also subject to a breath timer, so it cannot be cast repeatedly.
The following methods allow you to interrupt Word of Recall:
- Silence and Waterlog
- Engulf-flavour attacks (such as from a water elemental)
- Paralysis
- Sleep
- Full petrification
- Confusion
- Frenzy
- Fear
- A wand of polymorph
- Killing the caster
The following enemies cast Word of Recall:
It can also be cast on you as an effect of a Zot trap.
History
- Prior to 0.34, this spell could be dispelled by Yara's Violent Unravelling and Quicksilver Bolt.
- Prior to 0.27, this spell couldn't be interrupted by Yara's Violent Unravelling.
- Prior to 0.17, curare had an asphyxiation effect that could block or interrupt Word of Recall.
