A piece of cloth and leather for launching stones, which do a small amount of damage on impact. Unlike with other launchers, wearing a shield does not slow down its rate of fire. "And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth." -KJV Bible, Sam 17:49.

The sling is the weakest of the ranged launchers. They can use either sling bullets or stones for ammo, with sling bullets doing significantly more damage. While slings lack the stopping power of longbows and crossbows, they can be fired quickly even at low skill levels, suffer no penalty when used with shields, and can be used with stones to take out annoying early jellies from a distance quickly.
