Version 0.33: This article may not be up to date for the latest stable release of Crawl.
A formless mass of ancient fire, bound by heat and malevolence. It longs to unleash itself as a wild fire storm, yet must first patiently burn towards its victims with implaceable inevitability.

Useful Info

Creeping infernos are self-destructing entities that explode into Fire Storms (8d10 damage) when killed. They are found naturally in Gehenna, or summoned by stokers.

Tips & Tricks

  • They have relatively low willpower for a Hell monster - wands of paralysis should have a decent success chance against them, even with minimal training.
  • Summons can tank the hit, but make sure you're a good distance away when it happens.

History

  • Prior to 0.33, creeping infernos had only 1-2 HP and would behave similarly to lurking horrors instead of moving towards the player normally, but were speed 14. They also had 10 willpower and their Fire Storm did 8d8 damage.
