A living engine of aquatic animal flesh fused with a colossal mass of bewitched metal scrap. Such hybrid terrors are perhaps the most successful experiments conducted in these tainted waters: its necromantically-attuned shell and a diet of furious drowned thieves has granted even this thrashing beast the ability to control the sunken souls of its countless victims.

Scrapshell chimeras are one of the boss monsters that can spawn in the Gulch portal. Despite having stats a bit over Golden dragons, trading all of it's EV for more AC, the Murky Legion it can summon can make its encounter even more deadly.

Tips & Tricks

This is a particularly dangerous enemy for the level at which you will find it. It hits hard in melee, can drag you into its summoned pack, and has 2 strong auxiliary attacks. Best to avoid melee if possible. Its summons are susceptible to Yara's Violent Unravelling, and it is vulnerable to Silver Javelins. Although it has relatively high willpower, it's usually safe to use a Scroll of vulnerability alongside Hexes or hexing wands.

Additionally, it possesses animal intelligence, making it susceptible to Elyvilon's Pacify ability.

• Scrapshell chimera were added in 0.35, to populate the Gulch.
